Hope you guys will bear w/me for this question. ONE is going to be down about 3% today and HA will be down about 1.3% or so. So far, would you recommend just forgetting about them & moving on to picks for today or would you continue to monitor them? Thanks to all of you for any thoughts on that.................Frank

The filter updates the trading list each day - if the selections do not meet the entry criteria you move on and use the new list.
If you choose to keep a limit order in place to see if it catches on a subsequent day, there is no statistical data to state you will get the same result.

Kevin,
I take it from your dialog your WFA is done monthly. Is this correct? And you use the sample optimization for the next months filter correct?
Also, have you looked at williams percent r with a time frame of 3 for an exit? Only reason I ask is many swing traders look at this value and didn't know if there was any advantage as such.
Thanks

1 Correct.
2 Correct.
3 I have not looked at that, but my guess would be that it would keep you in trades a little longer, which has a mixed impact on the results (maybe a slightly higher win %, but fewer total trades). Looking at the Williams %R(2) exit results, I think I'm OK with them!

For those of you who are using SS, Pete just posted all of the code required to analyze the ConnorsRSI indicator and system (as Connors presents it in the link on the first post in this thread). Enjoy.

Just a comment: I've been tracking this filter for about 15 days or so & haven't gotten an entry yet. I'm sure everyone else sees that too. From the backtesting I read of Kevin's at the beginning of thread, I should be getting an entry just about every day or every other day. Impatient Frank in Las Vegas.

Patience is usually rewarded. This filter delivers results at its own pace, based on only entering trades at a point when the probabilities favor a win.
To help you understand the actual frequency with which it trades I will post some additional results later tonight. Two weeks without a trade is not uncommon over the last five years.
UPDATE: I reran the system from 1/11/2008 until 1/11/2013 and looked at the timing and frequency of trade entries. There are 16 times during this period where there was no trade entered for 10 or more days, with the longest period being in late 2009 where 25 days passed without a trade being entered.
I like this system because it makes money, NOT because it trades a lot.

Kevin_in _GA,
First of all, thank you for your generous contributions of both time and content to this community. It is certainly appreciated.
I've been trying to follow this latest system you've posted and find myself a little confused. You wrote,

...I am using the specific settings chosen by the WFA for December (two 4% pullbacks, ADX(5) above 55, with exit at Williams %R(2) above -45)...
So I'm running the following:
This filter has yielded the following results since 1/15/13:
GGC
GDOT
GMED
RNF
ACAD
ACTV
Is this correct or should I be running the original filter posted on 11/27/2012 10:55:50 PM?
Thanks in advance for any assistance...
