I am having a real problem getting SF to select stocks based on a negative DMA that has crossed over a CEMA. Does anybody know how to do this?

DEFAU, I also tried doing this using both -di(14) and mdi(14) but fetcher goes into an endless loop of computing filter results. I would suggest you email tech support. They're usually very quick to respond.

You'll have to excuse maxreturn, he thinks you are talking about DMI. I'm sure you were shaking your head when you read his post. His clue should have been "DMA crossing CEMA."

Sorry bout the brain fart defau! Mistook DMA for DMI. Riggs is the self proclaimed expert on the magical properties of the negatively displaced DMA. Hopefully he will be able to help you out. More importantly I hope you see the utter uselessness of even considering using a backwards displaced moving average to make trades today. THINK ABOUT IT!

Yes, I was afraid I was looking at smoke and mirrors and after more study realized this to be true even though the crossing set up beautifully on a chart.

 Seriously !

a DMA(3,3) ---> 3 period Moving Average...ADVANCED (ie. displaced) 3 periods is a really nice little Moving Average to add to your array of MAs ! imo

 I use it !

 I love it !

 I don't look at a chart without it !
