The first month is free. Each month after that is only $30.
I think it is always better to learn to do something (especially something that is important to you and you would do often) than it is to pay for someone else to do it. Invest the time in learning SS and you will be amply rewarded.

Kevin,
Thanks to your instructive posts here at SF, I've learned to program fairly well. Is StrataSearch any more complicated?

I have posted a number of examples of code in SF that has been coded in SS as well. I think it is within anyone's grasp to get to a decent novice level, and as long as you are willing to play around a bit and read the forums, you can do almost anything you want in terms of system design (including automatic optimization of different parameters).

Kevin, as always, you have been to our rescue.
SS seems more like Amibroker, which I have got some idea on how to use.
However, my only issue with it is the database for various indices and / or custom index. Like I want to apply a certain filter only to SP100 stocks or Nasdaq 100 stocks but getting those (2007-to date) is an issue. How good is SS with this. I can switch to it if it serves the purpose. Thanks

The Nasdaq 100 is built in as an available sector for analysis. I use the S&P 500 (also included as an available sector) rather than the S&P 100 as it generates more trades from a larger group of stable, highly liquid stocks.

FWIW, Kevin has helped me understand some of SS by providing some examples in code of how to test weekly ranks. I've built on that tutorial (thanks as always, Kevin) and have been learning from those examples and just by using the software over time, which has a lot of depth and usefulness. I use it in conjunction with some of the filters I run on SF.
It's worth nothing that StrataSearch's support is also exemplary. IMHO, it's a tool worth learning to use.

From what I've read StataSearch does not have Intraday capabilities, only endday. If you need intraday scans, TC2000 might be a better choice. Cost is the same.
