Assuming you are looking to enter long positions:
You want the short ema's above the long ema's, that rules out DHXM, NLNK, VBIV, DCIX,CRIS,AVXL for now although AVXL is shaping up.
Furthermore the longterm ema's should be sloping up and widening and ideally have price pull back into them.
Try the following of a ema(17) cross the ema(50) as the Bullish separation of the 2 Guppy groups.
The the ema(4) cross ema(9) as another leg up on a already up trending stock.
Thanks for the replies, very useful info but not quite what I was looking for to what I thought I was asking.
I was actually hoping to get opinions on those 8 stocks as possible Guppy MMA early entry candidates along the lines of Mactheriverrat posts on JPM and BRZU on 9/7, SONC on 9/3, and EGAN on 9/28.
@mahkoh is the fifth stock in your post's symlist supposed to be HSY?
According to my Edgerater sw Guppy MMA template:
HSY is not in a Persistent Uptrend because it is currently in a Pullback in Uptrend,
Short Term group above Long Term Group with a 0.2% separation
Long Term Group is aligned, Short Term group is not aligned
Short Term group width is 1%, Long Term Group width is 2%
Short Term Group annualized slope is -26%
Long Term Group annualized slope is 13%
1. Edgerater Pro is a sw program I use for backtesting and scanning and the programmer/owner comes out with monthly Templates which execute in Excel, some of which are very good like his Guppy template. His last 2 templates have been related to the recent Connors book about Fear and Greed market scans.
Occasionally he posts videos and writes blog posts about how to do something in Edgerater Pro or about one of the templates.
Fortunately, he wrote one about the Guppy template back in Feb 2017, that explains it and what it does in fairly good detail, about a 3 page read, here's the link:
I believe there is always a free 30 day subscription available and subscriptions are monthly or one lifetime payment for the sw, and monthly/yearly for a template subscription. Fairly expensive but in the late fall he usually offers a 40% discount off of the price to any on his email list.
He used to be a high level programmer for Microsoft so his stuff is done very well, there is even a simple scripting language included so people can write their own scans or even their own templates or modify existing ones.
If you look thru his blog posts you'll see the vast array of stock topics he's done templates for.
2. Regarding his Guppy template, I believe most of it can be duplicated/approximated in StockFetcher so if there is something in particular you like, after you read the Guppy blog post, let us all know and the SF user community can probably kludge up something in SF.
Ed, I agree with your assessments, both CRIS and AVXL need to break short term resistance (1.87 for CRIS, 3.08 for AVXL). I bought TRVN on 9/25 @ 2.05. Current stop at 2.00 based on CBL
