It is my understanding that ZIV would be affected by Contango for months 4 - 7. Currently I www.vixcentral.com I see Month 7 to 4 in Contango at 11.94% for months 4-7 and Month 4 at 3.98%. If this is the case why has ZIV been drifting down over 4 days? Maybe I really do not understand what causes ZIV to go up and down like I thought I did.
