 LiquidPiston looks very interesting; however...

If LiquidPiston were already producing these 2-5 years ago, I'd jump right on it. Now, though, the EV industry is snowballing. Who's going to go backwards to rethink their EV strategy to re-add a gas engine?

Having said that, I see this being used for/by companies that don't yet have an EV strategy, or where their EV strategy still includes hybrid technology. Additional market might be retrofitting (in a couple of years) older cars - either replacing their existing engines, or setting up retrofit hybrid engines. Oh, and maybe some automakers would use these for their lower-end vehicles, to save cost on full-on EVs.

They also might be great for bikes, mopeds, and smaller vehicles - and of course there's that "unmanned flight vehicle", aka drone, industry.

I'm thinking the government is interested in LiquidPiston for all of those reasons. Saving $ on retrofitting and not having to upgrade to EV yet is probably important to them.

It seems to me that while LiquidPiston are a little late to the game; they might end up being a great interim investment.
