The Percent Rank value is generally defined as the number of values in the look‐back period that are less than the current value, divided by the total number of values, where the current value is defined as the difference between the current price and the previous closing price.
Example, let’s say that the difference between the current price and yesterday price is $1. If we iterate through 100 different dates and found that 50 similarly defined differences are below $1 then our PercentRank(100) = 50
The question becomes when comparing historical difference with the current one how to treat the equality, count it in or not?
When comparing my calculations with Stock Fetcher (SF), it appears that for some symbols SF the equality is counted (like it is in the case of DWTI or DUST) and for some other not counted (like in the case of DGAZ).
Can anyone clarify this moment for me, please?
Thank you
