Here is my next attempt at separating out the UP volume and DOWN volume. I had to use more of the price data to do this, rather than have a purely volume-driven output, but until SF can get this as a part of their toolset, this is the best I can do right now.
This is pretty good at picking up the trends, and in getting you out as the price flattens near the top.

Hi Kevin, Very interesting way to decipher volume. Any thoughts on why the total volume you compute does not match the standard volume as charted by the platform. Is it because of the CMA you use that the actual numbers don't add up, for instance red + green should equal total and total should equal the actual volume as shown on a typical "standard" chart, right? Also, in most cases total volume as you compute it is less than the volume shown on a Chart+ of the same symbol. Any insight you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. --Dave
