Hi M4M,
I think you said that backwards ...
SPY made a high of 113.03 on 12-29-09
VXX made low of 32.04 on 12-29-09
and DOW made high of 10,580
thanks i figured it out-- just use ^vxb ^vxn ^vxd and ^vix-- use the rsi-2 daily- these all near 96 and spy and dia near 7 meaning bottom will be in 12-31 1-4 or 1-5-- just use a 1-2 hour rsi-2 and look for a bottom reversal in them with a pos divergence 0- this is how i pick off ever bottom and top of the market with lazer accuracy-its very very easy-then again thursday was happy friday(10 days before exp--the day you buy puts or calls depending whether your at a top or bottom- 7-9 happpy fridays have been near bottoms)

Why wouldn't you just go to the Volatility Indexes thread in the General Discussion ..... Kevin embedded all the volitility index charts on the first page ..... they update automatically .....
One thing I have noted here before is that, depending on which site you use for your technical analysis, the values of standard indicators are different (example, bollinger band and MACD values on stockcharts.com are often different from the values found on SF).
Differences are minor though, and should not affect trading decisions.
M4M may not be right on this one however - the VIX futures are heavily weighting for an INCREASE in the VIX for the first quarter, which would drive stocks down rather than up. Also, look at the spike in volume on VXX - people are buying this as a hedge.

Frankly, it depends on WHICH chart you're looking at.
