Since I had about 25 orders and was out late Sunday night, i was half asleep while calculating average fill amts and entering in the exit orders. By Wednesday , 24 out of 25 orders were sold off. DAO is only one remaining, it was 0.3 to 1 % below all week and now at a 10% loss today. On the whole a net win. Notes: There were also 2 equities that had earnings this week which I did not purchase. some of the old unsold equities are starting to rise. |

Congratulations on your net win. I'm using CROCK POT filters from you, nibor100, and TRO for stats and risk reports. For trades, I still rely on common indicators. |

10/30/2021 1:10:44 PM Great filter.I have a few questions. To clarify, buy on open Monday/sell when stock gain is at 2% or on Friday whichever comes first. No stops.Any consideration for gaps or just market order in regardless. Is anyone actually trading this with real money? Thanks... |

Thanks... =================================================================== @ miketranz I used CROCK POT stats ideas from TRO, redversa721, nibor100, and extremely valuable risk warnings from VenturaTrader. Then, I read many CROCK POT threads and posts, before I made a few trades with real money and with blue chip stocks only. I did not blindly go with the picks from any CROCK POT filters. All my CROCK POT trials made the winning targets that TRO recommended in his original thread. I remember you as also keen on money management, which should continue to be important if you decide to try CROCK POT. You are probably better set to benefit from TRO's original CROCK POT thread than some others. As a long-time sF member, you are probably better set to harvest value from various CROCK POT threads by separating the grain from the chaff. In my limited experience, TRO's advice and emphatic warnings in his original CROCK POT have merit as stats and risk considerations. Posts by redversa721 and nibor100 in this thread offer invaluable experience and tools. Good luck with your trading. |

10/30/2021 2:14:55 PM Mike These are the steps 1. Sat/Sun enter orders to fill on market open 2. On market open, calculate fill amts and find your exit value [2.2% in my case] 3. feverishly :-p, enter the exit orders as quickly as possible . 4. to answer your question about unsold/losing stocks, I just keep them open and do not sell it. Other notes: Important : Use more than 15 equities every week [Can't stress enough] 1. Only commit to this process if you can be awake on market open if you put in your orders the weekend before. Even a delay by an hour can have some disastrous results [week 2, I think for me] 2. Have a prepopulated excel sheet with list of your equities you plan to buy , fill it up on sat/sun . Have a empty column for a 2% "calculated" exit value so that when you enter the fill values on Monday you get your exit numbers right away 3. One other tip, if you go the excel route, sort the equities you intend to purchase in excel, so that on Monday morning when your market buy orders are filled, you can then sort the buy orders and it is easier to go down the list and enter the fill average value. |

10/30/2021 2:22:54 PM to also add, since I am dealing with about 20 + equities each week, even if 3 stocks are 10 % down, I am still up for the week. Now if I increase that to 25 stocks, my risk levels goes down further. Based on my manual backtesting over 2 years, most weeks there is 1 or at the max 2 stocks that are unsold at the end of the week. I personally keep them unsold, if you want to minimize risk and want to sell the 'example' 2 unsold stocks at a 10% loss each, you still made a gain out of the week. |

10/31/2021 12:53:00 PM @miketranz, 1. Last Monday I entered a test trade, with real money, on the top stock returned by the Tro Crock Pot 2.0 filter. I do not know how to enter a trade over the weekend to execute at the Open price in TD Ameritrade, so I used a market order at the Open and while I was fumbling around to enter a profit stop at 3% HG had already gone up over 6% so I closed that trade with a market order; learning that what RedVersa721 says is true that a lot of these stocks move very quickly after Monday's Open. 2. Below is a modified version of his filter with some additional statistic columns and chart plots that may be of interest to those of you who are accomplished day traders. Columns for 52 wk avg weekly profit, and number of weeks, out of last 52, that hit 3%, 4% and 5%, also a drawing of the weekly profit pct with a line marking the 5% level. It seems to me that this filter routinely finds stocks that are dynamic, week in and week out, and should be able to exploited for more than 2% a week by adept day traders. (i.e. not me) Ed S. |
