I've never been one to beat a dead horse, and don't like pulling from the grave, but I thought it was time to put closure to these threads. The only way to do that is to end it with a bang! So check this out....

Hey Rigs thanks for all your insight you have truly helped me to make money short term trading my core positions. I truly believe the most money to be made is whether short term trading or long term investing is utilizing both fundamental and technical analyisis. I realize most folks here are probably short term traders exclusively but this will help.

Did you ever get a multitude of stocks returned on a filter and wonder which ones should I add to my watchlist, or wonder is this stock junk? When you get your filtered results run them through the above calculator and check their intrinsic values. You will be buying true value a this point. Remember the great ones who have become wealthiest did it with VALUE VALUE VALUE, and TA(they added to their positions on pullbacks allowing them to reap both long term capital gains rate and minimal commission fees). Good luck to all..

Hey man, you are really on to something with that calculator! Thank you for that, and thanks for YOUR insight here as well.

Hey, when are you going to share the filters YOU use with the combination of RSI(2)& DMA? I mean hey...this all started with you man! There have been a few inquiries now, and I think it's time for YOU to step up to the plate. It's obvious you have something to bring to the table. I for one am looking forward to your filter. Till then....

Riggs, very impressive........have you looked at Dec 4th picks using DMA dominator plus RSI(2)? Seems to be the only negative day this scan has produced. I notice no real indicator of why the picks that day were opposite the impressive gains each day and week prior. Have you any insight on this? I'm not schooled enough at this point to see if another additional scan would have eliminated it, just logic. Thanks again, Luc

It's so hard to figure out the market. I haven't looked at that days scan, but it could be that some of those stocks were from the same sector and bad news hit. Dec. 4th wasn't a actual trading day, but Dec. 5th was, and was a down day. Remember, you will only get out of the market what it gives you. But I know what you mean, it's weird like that sometimes. Like today Jan. 17th, the Nasdaq was down 15 points from yesterday, but I blistered the market as if the Nasdaq were up 40 or 50 points! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful Luc. Peace.

Riggs...thanks. I knew it was a down day, just trying to peer into the glass. Agreed with the market, down today, but my screen bled green across the board. I like the filter....the more I play with it and add/shift my own scans, I'll post what I come up with. Thanks again to you and TRO. Luc

Riggs,

I haven't actively followed this thread, but by the tune that everyone chimes at the end of the day, it seems that the magic potion just might be found in this lifetime after all. So I ran ure very first filter you posted.

# 1. DMA 5% FILTER:

Fetcher[Show stocks where 2 day slope of DMA(28,-14)is above 0 and
EMA(3)crossed below DMA(28,-14)within the last 3 days and
DMA(28,-14)is more than 5% above close and EMA(39)is more than 3% above close and average volume(90)is above 100000 and volume is above 100000 and close is above 2 and draw EMA(3)draw EMA(13)draw EMA(39)add column DMA(28,-14)add column Double stochastics(10,3)add column industry and sort column 6 and offset 0 days
]

However, I see no oasis but a pool of bloodbath among the stocks returned. If what you say is correct in that this filter will "equip(s) the surfer with infrared high powered Binoculars, so he sees the Shark fin 3 swells away under a dim moonlight night!" am I to just blindly plunge head over heels into the bloodbath?

Here's what I got after running ure filter:
Symbol........Last..........%Chg.............Vol..........DMA(28-14)......Double.Stochastic(103)

nikoschopen, per Tomb in tech support the dma(28,-14) is nothing more than a 14 day simple moving average on the most recent price bar. THIS IS PRECISELY THE POINT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE TO OTHERS WHO HAVE FALLEN INTO THE TRAP OF LOOKING AT THE HISTORICAL PLOT OF THIS INDICATOR. HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU SAY AN INDICATOR HAS PREDICTIVE VALUE TODAY WHEN TODAY YOU COMPUTE A 28 PERIOD MOVING AVERAGE AND THEN MOVE IT BACK 14 DAYS? YET MANY IN THIS FORUM HAVE FALLEN FOR THIS LINE THROWN OUT BY RIGGS..."equip(s) the surfer with infrared high powered Binoculars, so he sees the Shark fin 3 swells away under a dim moonlight night!"

I want to thank others for having the courage to speak out about the preposterous claims about this indicator. TRO, of all people I would think that you would simply dispel the myth that the dma(28,-14) is in fact nothing more than a 14 day simple moving average. A lot of other folks on this forum look up to you. Why have you been silent? Do you have a business relationship with riggs?

nikochopen,

Let me guess....you're going to bet ALL the stocks on that page right? Also you will notice that most of the stocks have the DMA slope pointing downward! Why on earth would you put money on a stock like that? I have about 10 different filters I draw from, and if I'm lucky I might use one from each filter. And do you know how to trade? If so, you could have made money at some point on MANY of those stocks! So don't come at me with black & white! Trading is not at all like that. Out of all those stocks you posted, let's see what happens tomorrow! I'll put on a trading clinic if you like, and I'll find 1 or 2 of them that will ROI just fine. It's not about the filters. It's about entry & exit points & market timing! Filters provide "market timing" and GOOD trading skills will always provide the "entry & exit points."

Besides all that, were not even talking about that filter anylonger! You are way behind my friend. This is the filter you need to be wasting your time on backtesting....

Fetcher[show stocks where DMA(28,-14)is above close and RSI(2)is below 1 and close is near bottom Linear Regression Line(60)and average volume(90)is above 300000 and volume is above 300000 add column DMA(28,-14)add column RSI(2)add column Bottom Linear Regression line(60)and offset 0 days]

It's not about "high scores", it's about taking what the market will give you! Do you have the balls to do that? Yes? Then you will be a success. If you just want to wait for a "green" colored performance column, then you will always be driving a limo for guys like me.

RIGGS.
