Help me understand what is mediocre according to your requirements. And which of the filters fits.
You have identified the tool (filter) and have identified criteria for assessment.
Maybe you might share 1. criteria for a superior filter and 2. post one of yours or 3. improve one or more of mine or someone else's.
(I believe this is from Mr. Covel)
trading system:
1) signal to buy/sell a market
2) signal o get out of a losing position.
3) signal to get out of a winning position
4) system that determines what market to buy or sell at any time and
5) system that determines how much of a market to buy or sell at any time.
Thanks.

four,
Again, thanks for your brief script on StochRSI. I have been experimenting with it.
That said, I really would appreciate it if you would answer this question that I asked previously in this thread:
"Say, StochRSI(2,5) or StochRSI(7,5). Would a StochRSI(first number higher than second number) make any sense at all? Or should the first number either be the same or lower than the second number?"
What about it?
ps: Grandma took a slug of spiked apple cider, so she's out for a while.

I guess IAD (it all depends).
Perhaps someone else can offer a thought. Maybe a filter?
PS looking forward to your modification of the filter you are working with...

four,
You said "Depends." That's what Grandma uses.
C'mon, four. You started this thread. Does it make any sense for the first number to ever be larger than the second number, e.g., StochRSI(10,5) ?
Or should it either be smaller, e.g, StochRSI(5,10) or the same, e.g., StochRSI(10,10) ?
Inquiring minds want to know. I'm the captain of that fan club.
Please, anyone. Join in on this answer so this thing can be put to rest, and I can complete my script (which I'll publish). And Grandma will be happy .

Your question is like, "Which is the best moving average?"
And then someone comes around and says they are successful with two (not one).
And then someone says they prefer one EMA and the other MA.
And then someone says they have success with three WMA or three WEMA.
And then someone says they...
And then someone says...
And then someone...
And then...
You get the point.
My hope is that you can be successful with your creation.
Does the trader average up?
Does the trader average down?
Etc.
Remember, money management and all the other things that wrap-up a trading system.
