The next day open to high spread on the top stock is averaging 10% or more about 30% of the time. If chkcl on the top stock <> 1, add the first stock where chkcl = 1 and the 10% or more spread goes up to about 35% of the time.
For example, HXM was the top stock from Friday, but its chkcl was 0. GNK was the first stock on the list where chkcl = 0. HXM's open to high spread yesterday was 9.3%. GNK's was 11.1%. Today's stocks to watch would be INO, and since its chkcl=0 you would watch GNK as well.
I haven't looked to see if anyone has previously posted this approach of using an average of the open to high range. If they have, well, congrats, it seems to offer some very attractive trading opportunities on a day-to-day basis. That being said, there are numerous examples where the stocks seriously tank so it's not a blind buy and walk away type of trade.
Also, this filter just identifies a couple of stocks each day with some good upside potential...you need your own entry and exit strategies to take advantage of it.

GNK @ 3.00 is the greatest short in the world. Cover @ 2.30

Perhaps, but I made 5.2% on it yesterday going long on a day trade. To each their own.

GNK up 5% pre-market. I don't do short trades, but that would look pretty appealing for a short if it opens anywhere near that. JMHO.

GNK was on my short list yesterday but popped off today. This happens often at SF.

GNK did tank. Nice if you're a short player. I'm not. But AZU was on the opportunity list for today and it was a decent long day trade.

Aren't the three picks shown under each clickable filter supposed to be the top 3 returns on the results list you get when you click on the filter??? The top 3 I get are AXU, GNK, AND PRAN for the first filter and AXU,GNK, and PGNX for the second as of thursday's close the 29th..... what am I missing...I'm sure all of the filter phrases are clicking over to the custom filter box....my top 3 all always different from the threads results....any ideas???

They are not the top 3, even if you specifiy a sort order in the filter. You need to click on the filter in order tos ee the results properly sorted.
