This is a simple setup I use to find calls and puts that I can hold longer term. At this point, I would be buying monthly contracts for Feb. If the trend holds, I will roll out to the next month by the beginning of the second week of Feb to reduce theta burn. I am looking for an entry at or near the cross (call or put).
I am not looking to hit dead bottom or top, but to be more careful of the trend first and then holding as long as possible. My exits are usually based on the EMA(13) and then waiting for the next Stoch cross.
Obviously, you would need to add your own style, so I am only posting the basic of the Full Stoch.

Why do you only use the filter on the stated signs? is it because you are comfortable trading them or you have a criteria for choosing the signs? Can I use this filter for other tickers?

Schubert05 you can use it on any optionable stock or ETF (as long as it has volume and OI). This is just my favorite list of optionable stocks to trade. I am most familiar with this list and trade them over and over.

Which one? Calls or puts? They go in different directions and I assume the filter only works one way.

I purposely didn't put a line in for the cross up or down. I use a limited number of optionable stocks, so I can glance through them quickly. You can easily add a line to make it a call or put filter and any other specifics that will make it fit your style of trading.
But, as I said, I try to buy at or very near the cross (up or down) and use the EMA(13) as an exit point.

I run this every evening and then look at pre-market starting at 9 am ET to see if they are moving in the right direction. I usually buy options in the first 30 min of the day.
