Today, shares are up 15 cents to $7.69 and options volume is running 20X the average daily on increasing interest in May 7.5 calls, with 1576 traded (88 percent ask-side). Citi raised it to Buy from Hold with a $21 price target on improving eCommerce trends. Oppenheimer upgraded AKAM to Outperform from Perform with a $30 price target, saying revenues troughed in 2009 and valuations should ramp as top line improves. The comments hold some sway, because they come ahead of a Dec 7 analyst day. Meanwhile, options volume is running 4X the average daily, with help from a Jan 20 - 26 call spread, sold 4450X at $4.10, which is possibly a roll up in strikes. Shares are up 15 cents to $14.51 and hearing the premium purchase, which looks opening, was untied. Meanwhile, XLF Dec 15 puts and calls have both traded 65000X. The top trade is a block of 16,479 Dec 15 calls at 16 cents each on ISE, which is an opening customer buyer, according to ISEE data. In fact, ISEE data indicate that 42K calls (or 77 percent of the volume on the ISE today) have been bought-to-open. Shares added 8.9 percent yesterday and showed relative strength late in the day, even as the broader market came under fire during the final hour. Today, shares are up another $1.32 to $21.56 and touched a new 52-week high on news Samsung will begin offering a 1 Gigabit XDR DRAM memory device and broaden the use of XDR technology for gaming, electronics, and computing. XDR DRAM is a component of Rambus’s XDR Memory architecture and, according to BWS Financial analysts, the news is positive for RMBS because “momentum could build in the stock because of the potential revenue growth the co could realize in the long-term”.
