I'm trying to develop a filter that screens for flat bases. Lenght in time, run-up, price do not matter at this point. Anyone have an idea of how to do this. One example of what I'm looking for is THOR. Prior to this weeks break out, it exibited a nice looking flat base.
thanks,

One thing you may want to add to TRO's script in the other thread is a measure of standard deviation over the time frame you're looking for the base.

At the risk of sounding like a lazy idiot...
Do you have an idea of the kind of script you're talking about. Is this a "canned" filter that I can find? Any help here would be greatly appreciated -thanks.

p,
Here is one you may try for a starting point. It does not backtest real well but can help you to manually pick out channeling stocks and follow them.
100-day Channel approaching Bottom and close above 3
and Average Volume(30) is above 100000
and add column RSI(2)
and add column Bollinger %B(20,2.0)
and draw RSI(2)

Drew
