This filter seems to have possibilities. Stockfetcher still seems to have problems finding RSI(5) readings below 5 or less. It works good with RSI(2) but I have to keep the RSI(5) statement about no lower than 8 to get hits.

Fetcher[offset 20 days
Show stocks where volume is > 40000
DeMarker(7) crossed below .000001
and rsi(5) < 8
add column rsi(5)
add column demarker(7)
]

When the RSI(5) signal hits dead bottom there is usually a next day bounce.

This is from the indicators and measures forum:

Demarker

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parameters Period
Usage DeMarker(14)

Description Developed by Thomas R. Demark, this indicator attempts to detect price tops and bottoms through adjacent highs and lows.
First, an average of differences is computed from the current intraday high and previous intraday high. If the current high is above the previous, the difference is used, otherwise nothing is added. Next, the same process is used for current intraday lows which are less than the previous intraday low. Finally, a ratio is computed by taking the average of highs over the sum of the average high and low differences.

The DeMarker values range between 0 and 1.0 with 0.30 and 0.70 considered to be important thresholds

I`ve requested that the anonymous author be removed from this filter in the public filter lists. Never intended for it to be anonymous anyway. Not sure how it got that way.

I have made some great gains using this filter this year, and I have tweeked it over time for improved results.

As with anything, due diligence must be required to ensure that the falling stock price`s are about to reverse. You want to watch for the lowest RSI(5) values in the columns. Also a positive moving COG(3) signal is a good indicator also. You need to develop a sense of when the bears are running out of steam in driving the stock down. A positive earnings per share, news, and other factors are to be considered when choosing which stock to pull the trigger on.

Just be ready to take your money and run once the bounce occurs. I have been using trailing stops, to keep my profits from the bounce. Sometimes the bounce is for only one day, so use those stops.

My greatest gains have come from stocks that have had panic selling, that go down so far that they appear on this filter. Then I jump in on the sellers remorse upswing. This filter has giving me only one loss out of 14 trades this year, when I have used it.

TRO did a bunch of filters awhile ago:

Run the filter, and go look at the chart for the stocks that it picks. you will see the demarker line touching the 0 value line. This has to be so, because of the command of values less than .000001. You also are looking for the RSI(5) line to be touching the 0 value line. But in practical terms RSI(5) rarely will ever equal 0, or below 1. Thats why the filter has an RSI(5) value of 8 or less. But eyeballing the chart you want to look for RSI(5) to look like its touching the 0 line. If any daylight exists between the 0 line and the RSI(5) line, then you probably want to avoid buying in just yet, or until the lines converge, even though RSI(5) is not at 0.

If you run the filter and then add an offset days command at the beginning, then vary the number of days of the offset, this in effect is a way to backtest any filter for performance. You can see with your own eyes as you look at the charts, and change the days value, how any filter`s picks perform. This filter is for generally a short term reversal. Maybe only a 1 day bounce. A good rule of thumb is to set your chart length for 3 months, to look over the performance.
