Is anyone willing to share a filter for a Darvas Box that they believe is fairly accurate in representing how Darvas selected his candidates? I'd like to "play" with it adding some criteria I might develop to narrow down the stocks selected?

Thanks,
Steve

Here's some interesting notes on Nicolas Darvas. He was a professional dancer, who purportedly made $2,000,000 in the stock market back in the 50's,deploying what is know today as momentum trading. What he basically did was buy high flyers, stocks moving up/breaking out of what he called "box's".He would place orders "on stop" to buy, then place a stop loss order right under his buy point.Using tight money management skills kept him in the game long enough to hit a few really big winners. The first one was E.L.Bruce.He cleaned up when the stock was halted/short squeezed to the tune of $295,000.Nice money in the 50's.There are charts in the final pages of his book that will visually explain his trading methods.Great read, highly recommended.Miketranz...

To replicate the Darvas approach from his 1st book, the filter would have to find stocks that have just exceeded their all time highs on a weekly basis, with a jump in weekly volume and Darvas had no minimum volume parameters for liquidity,

A close study of the charts at the end of the book and some of his earlier text can provide all of the necessary clues to how he traded while pursuing his dance career overseas.
