Has anyone developed a strategy that uses or includes Acceleration Bands that has a satisfactory Profit Factor?

I personally don't use these, but have seen examples where one enters on the second close above the upper Acceleration band and exit upon the next close below the upper band. I have not done any statistical analysis on this.
Example filter:
or the weekly version

Backtesting this concept in Stratasearch against 1-50 days MA on the Acceleration Bands, both daily and weekly, yielded no acceptable systems. I would avoid this idea.

Yeah, thats why I asked if it was related to (promoted by) Price Headley. He gets a failing grade as a guru with a 42% accuracy rate according to CXO Advisory.

He uses other indicators. When I spoke to him some years ago, he looks for the 'bend don't break' scenario. In other words, once it breaks out if it comes back into the band and doesn't break the mid point he waits for a high high higher low candle.
Anyhow, I never made heads or tails of it. Like many financial salesmen, you get the teaser but not the real deal unless you spend a fortune for what ends up to be a mediocre trading idea.

Speaking of "teaser" emails .... this is a unique website that I came across about a month ago.
http://stockgumshoe.com/
They decipher promotional emails on top stock picks.
As interesting as it may be, I would never trade off this informaton.
