Can you tell us what is the difference between a 'filter' and a 'larger filter'? Is it a definitive number of lines? Can you tell us what the boundary is between the two. Will filters that we've already written that fall into the 'larger filter' catagory continue to work if we don't upgrade?
Thanks in advance,
Ron

Hi,
Any filter you have been running recently will run just fine without the upgrade, provided you have not seen any warnings about the filter being too complex. The filters that are involved will have produced a warning message previously about the filter being too large.
Typically this warning is acheived when you have many (typically around 5-6) nested variables. This doesn't relate to total number of variables, just those which depend on several previous variables.
For example, the filter below will produce the error message because the variable 'v5' depends on several previously defined variables:
However, the example below will not produce the message. Even though it contains more variables, the actual "nesting" of the variables is not as deep as the previous example.
Sorry the actual examples don't make sense; they should serve more as illustrations as to where the "large" or "complex" filter restriction is targeted.
Let us know if you have any questions!

Does the advanced Stock Fetcher allow more than 10 or 11 set statements in filters?
In additon, is there a quarterly or annual subscription rate for the advanced version? The increase in monthly fees from $8.95 to $16.95 seems quite high considering the only feature I really want is the ability to download more than 200 symbols at a time.

We have had access to data from 2002 to the current date or almost 4 years. From now on, 2002 will no longer be accessible at all? Is that old data unreliable or causing too much overhead? Just one or two years is valuable, but being able to test back further than 2 years is very valuable for backtesting purposes. For example, 2003 was a very strong year, but filters that worked then don't work in other years. Is there data from more than 2002? I would like to see many years back.

Hi,
Concerning 2002, I think there might be some confusion with the "2 year back-testing" statement. This does not mean we are only allowing a range of 2 years to choose from; instead the advanced feature allows you to configure a back-test of 2-years in length. You still have the same range of dates to choose from, but your back-test can be up to 2 years in total length.

It is good that you have Advanced Subscription to add new features. But, you should not diminish current features of the regular subscription. For example, so far, we were able to perform backtesting for 1 full year. Since Advanced Subscription came to mrket, backtesting for regular subscription has been reduced to 4 months only.
This type of reduced features could be receipes for reduction in memberships.
